Cruises are organised from September through to May on a regular basis taking advantage of long weekends and public holidays. A wide variety of venues are used as cruise destinations including:

Lake Macquarie,

Brisbane Waters,

Broken Bay-Pittwater Area,

Port Jackson, including Middle Harbour,

Wyangala Dam, inland NSW,

St Georges  Basin-Sussex Inlet and Jarvis bay in the South Coast,

Colo River

And, our favourite New Year's Celebration Cruise at Myall Lakes.

The emphasis on cruises is convivial company and relaxation in an uncrowded environment. Children are especially welcome.

Careel yachts are excellent for cruising because they are roomy, comfortable and stable.

There is a wealth of accumulated knowledge about how to organise and prepare the boats to make the experience enjoyable and hassle free.

The Careel Association has built its reputation on the friendly support given to new members when they join their first cruise. Cruising members are found all around Australia and popular destinations further afield include The Whitsunday Islands, The Gippsland Lakes and The Murray River.

Last year we had a convoy to The Great Sandy Strait, Queensland in September. What a success, incredible experience to sail accross from Urangan to Fraser Island. Any time soon we will plan another long range cruise. We will advise members through our Newsletter and members only space on this site.
